Founded on January 12, 1963—the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda—Bharat Vikas Parishad (BVP) is a service- and values-oriented socio-cultural organisation rooted in patriotism and national unity. Emerging in response to the 1962 Chinese aggression, it was conceptualized by Dr. Suraj Prakash and supported by eminent figures like Justice B.P. Sinha and Lala Hansraj Gupta.
BVP’s mission is to nurture a Swasth–Samarth–Sanskarit Bharat—strong in body, economy, and character—by fostering holistic development across cultural, academic, social, and spiritual spheres.
Guided by the five sutras: Sampark (fellowship), Sahyog (cooperation), Sanskar (moral orientation), Sewa (service), and Samarpan (commitment), BVP transforms service from charity into a sacred duty aligned with Bharatiya traditions.
BVP promotes self-reliance among beneficiaries, ensuring their dignified integration into society.
It runs over 1,600 active, permanent projects across India—ranging from medical centres, blood banks, and training institutes to educational and senior citizen welfare facilities.
With no administrative overheads from public funds, BVP’s model is fueled by member participation and full transparency. It bridges tradition with action—ensuring every service initiative carries the imprint of values, duty, and nation-first spirit.
