Founded on August 29, 1964, on Shri Krishna Janmashtami, the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) stands as a global force for Hindu unity. Initiated by leaders like Shri Guruji, Swami Chinmayanand, Sant Tukdoji Maharaj, and Babasaheb Apte, VHP has tirelessly worked to organize Hindus worldwide and protect the essence of Hindutva.
VHP’s hallmark achievement is the successful movement for the Shri Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, which redefined Hindu pride and political consciousness. Unlike orthodox religious institutions, VHP promotes openness, reform, and social equality. With over one lakh grassroots projects, it fosters holistic community upliftment—spiritually and socially—bridging rural-urban divides under the banner of Hindutva.
It has led impactful reforms against untouchability and caste discrimination, while safeguarding Hindu temples, sacred sites like Ram Setu, and promoting causes like Ganga protection and cow welfare. Through Gharwapsi, VHP addresses religious conversions by reconnecting individuals to their Dharma.
Globally, VHP unites the diaspora and fosters Hindu identity. Its Dharmasansad initiative brings together diverse Dharmacharyas to shape Hindu responses to contemporary challenges. Today, VHP is more than a cultural force—it is the soul of a resurgent Hindu society driven by seva, samarpan, and unshakeable conviction.
